What are the national cost of not sleeping enough (sleep deficit)?

Sleep deficit leads to “presenteïsm” (being physically present but not concentrated at work) and is associated with substantial workplace costs. In a 2011 national survey, researchers estimated that the US workforce loses about 11 days per employee annually in productivity which amounts to a total cost of $63 billion.
